Function Health Results Interpretation
You Have 100+ Biomarkers.
Now What?
Function Health provides exceptional testing—100+ biomarkers most doctors never order. But comprehensive data requires expert interpretation. A board-certified functional medicine doctor can identify which markers matter for YOUR health, reveal patterns the AI misses, and transform your results into a personalized action plan you can actually follow.
Sound Familiar?
You invested $500 in comprehensive testing. Now you're staring at pages of results wondering what it all means.
Information Overload
100+ biomarkers is a lot of data. Which ones actually matter for you?
No Personalized Context
Generic AI recommendations can't account for your unique health history and symptoms.
What Do I Actually DO?
You have the data, but turning it into an actionable plan is the hard part.
28-Day Wait for Notes
Waiting almost a month for clinician notes—while abnormal results create anxiety.
Function Health is Excellent.
But It's Not Complete.
Function Health explicitly states: "Our service is not medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease."
That's not a criticism—they're a testing company, not a medical practice. They give you the data. What you do with it is up to you.
I bridge that gap. Data in, action plan out.

DABCL Certified
Fewer than 800 in the United States
The Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology (DABCL) is the highest certification for lipid and cardiovascular risk management. When your Function Health panel shows elevated ApoB, Lp(a), or other lipid markers, you want someone who specializes in exactly that.
Combined with my naturopathic training and functional medicine expertise, I see both the trees AND the forest—how your lipids connect to your hormones, inflammation, gut health, and metabolic function.
Why Trust Me With Your Results?
Function Health gives you data that most doctors don't know how to interpret. ApoB, Lp(a), HOMA-IR, advanced thyroid markers—these aren't part of standard medical training.
I've spent years specializing in exactly this: advanced biomarker interpretation, metabolic optimization, and turning complex lab data into clear clinical action.
- Board-certified clinical lipidologist (DABCL)
- Naturopathic physician trained in root-cause medicine
- Functional medicine practitioner seeing the whole picture
- California licensed to diagnose, treat, and prescribe

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do after getting my Function Health results?
Function Health provides excellent data—100+ biomarkers most doctors never test. But data without interpretation is just numbers. The next step is working with a functional medicine doctor who can interpret your results in context, identify which markers actually matter for YOUR health, prioritize interventions, and create a personalized protocol. That's exactly what I do.
Why can't I just follow Function Health's recommendations?
Function Health provides general guidance based on individual biomarkers, but your body is an interconnected system. A high ApoB might mean one thing if your inflammation markers are normal, and something completely different if they're elevated. Generic recommendations can't account for your full picture—your symptoms, history, lifestyle, and how all your biomarkers interact. That requires clinical expertise.
Do I need to stop using Function Health to work with you?
Not at all. Function Health is an excellent testing platform—I encourage patients to continue using it for ongoing monitoring. What I provide is the interpretation, clinical context, and treatment protocols that Function Health explicitly states they don't offer. We're complementary, not competing.
What makes you qualified to interpret these results?
I'm one of fewer than 800 physicians in the United States with DABCL certification (Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology)—the gold standard for advanced lipid interpretation. I also have specialized training in functional medicine, hormone optimization, and metabolic health. When you have complex biomarker data, you want someone who understands the nuances.
What happens in a Function Health consultation?
We'll do a deep dive into your full panel—not just the flagged markers, but the patterns and connections between them. I'll explain what's actually concerning vs. what's noise, prioritize the 3-5 areas that will have the biggest impact, and create a specific action plan with nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations. You'll leave knowing exactly what to do.
How much does a Function Health interpretation cost?
A comprehensive Function Health results review is included in an initial consultation. This gives us time to review your full history, examine all 100+ biomarkers in context, and create your personalized protocol. Investment details are on my pricing page—and for many patients, this single consultation saves thousands in unnecessary interventions by focusing on what actually matters.
Can you order additional tests if needed?
Yes. While Function Health covers an impressive panel, sometimes we need additional testing to complete the picture—like a DUTCH hormone panel, GI-MAP stool test, or specialized cardiovascular imaging. As a licensed naturopathic physician in California, I can order any tests needed and integrate them with your Function Health data.
Do you work with patients outside California?
I'm licensed to practice in California, so I can only take patients who are California residents. However, if you're outside California, I'd recommend finding a functional medicine doctor in your state who can help interpret your results—the Institute for Functional Medicine has a practitioner directory.
